Updated: Apr 13, 2020

Everybody must have heard this sentence before "You are what you eat".

It is true and if you eat healthy you feel healthy.

What you eat will also show off on your skin and that's the theme of the post.

Our skin will represent us all our entire life.

Let's begin to Boost that skin and GLOW

1. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has a special antibacterial mechanism that can prevent upcoming acne. It contains Ferulic acid which reduces inflammation. The reduction of inflammation is good against acne, hair loss and rosacea.

Coconut oil moisturises the skin and also has anti fungal mechanism which can reduce dandruff and perioral dermatitis.

2. Avocados

Eating avocado is great for your skin because it contains a lot of vitamin C & E. These vitamins are antioxidants and they reduce inflammation that usually triggers rosacea, acne, eczema and psoriasis.

Avocados are a “fatty” fruit because they are high in omega-9 acids, they contain the healthy fats. This fat, provides moisture to the skin, which can prevent and reduce redness, irritation associated with acne and rosacea.

It can help prevent wrinkles too!

3. Turmeric (Curcuma)

This miracle plant has a nearly 4000-year long history of use and is more than just a spice. It has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces incidence of acne, rosacea, hair loss and psoriasis.

The antioxidant effect of turmeric is powerful. This is good news for people with liver problems. But too much of Turmeric can be bad for you! In big quantities turmeric can upset your stomach or lower your blood pressure.

I usually add a teaspoon of turmeric in my food everyday.

4. Salmon

One of the most nutritious foods on the planet

Salmon has a great source of antioxidants and natural oils that leave your skin, hair, and nails feeling healthy, bright and hydrated.

The omega-3 fatty acids are good for hair and nail growth. It reduces bad cholesterol and helps vitamin absorption.

Salmon is rich in high-quality protein.

Like omega-3 fats, protein is an essential nutrient that you must get from your diet. Eat it at least two times per week to meet your nutrient needs and reduce the risk of several diseases.

5. Kale

Kale is a green leafy vegetable high in fibers, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, copper, vitamin A and vitamin C.

Kale has a detoxifying effect that helps cleanse the liver, as well as anti-inflammatory properties which reduce acne, rosacea, hair loss and skin rashes. Vitamin C and copper help collagen production and prevent ageing.

Kale contains a lot of Vitamin K that has anticoagulant effect and is an important nutrient.

It is a wonderful vegetable so keep on eating it!
